It has been a long time since I have give you all a family update. In the words of Mom "this is a living nightmare"! Dad has been diagnosed with vascular brain dementia and frontal lobe brain damage. In the past 6 months to a year he has been on a slippery downhill spiral and we haven't been able to find another plateau. A big part of this downhill spiral is that the frontal lobe controls emotions, so right now we are dealing with a lot of aggressive emotional outburst. For me a lot of it comes in the form that I'm his daughter and he so desperately wants to be "Dad" that when I disagree with him he thinks I'm being disrespectful.
Now to the title of this post. Yes, I own you all a major update in the fact that I haven't posted in so long; but the major I was talking about is my school major. I enjoy math, but it isn't a passion of mine. Technology on the other is a true passion, I love it only slightly less than I love music and I'm much better at it than I am music. I decided to get my degree in Business Information Systems. The reason for this change is that it will still allow me to work int he school system as a technology specialist. I can help students use technology in the media center and help provide support to the teachers by helping provide them with the tools that need to do that demanding job. For the first time in a very long time, I'm excited about school starting in the fall instead of dreading it. Plus since I don't need to do an internship I will still finish at the same time. I still want to work with kids, and still love the middle school environment, but it will just be in a slightly different way.

Thanks for the update. I went through another brain condition, Alzheimer's, with my dad and it was very rough. You and your family are in my daily prayers. As for your major change, good for you! Gotta do what makes you happy. Love you.
Steph, I'm sorry I'm just now getting over here. It's been a little wild with our move. Yesterday we had to put my Pop in hospice care. Anyway, I am terribly sorry to hear about your dad. I'm adding you to my prayer list. Keep posting! Congrats on your new major...I think you'll be able to do lots with it. Hope everything else is well. xoxox
