Mom's Helpful Hints

What are your favorite hints that you have received from your Mom? If you are a Mom, what hints have you passed on to your children as they were growing up? Today I baked Oatmeal, Date & Chocolate Chip Cookies for Dad from Mom's recipe. I love to bake and learned a lot about baking from my Mom. Other help hints from my Mom is to steam your microwave to clean it by placing a bowl of water with a toothpick in it (prevents the water from getting superheated and exploding) in the microwave for 10 minutes. The other help hint she gave me was that I can clean my glasses with rubbing alcohol. You can buy a box of alcohol wipes much cheeper than you can buy the wipes to clean your glasses.

Oh, Steph, thank you so much! The timing was perfect and I love this song!

I just sent this video to my son as he got his dates today to go for BOLC training at either Ft. Benning or Ft. Sill on Nov. 2. He's my son, but he's also become a treasured friend.

You have a very handsome dad. His smile reminds me of my dad. Thank you for sharing his pic with us. He remains in my prayers.

How blessed I am that God allowed us to cross paths. I so look forward to being able to meet you some day.

Hugs, Ness

Ok, number one, cool header. Very nice. Number two, going to go back and listen to Friends, we used to sing that in high school! Number three, nice to see a picture of you and your family! Very neat!

My Dad taught me to drive a stick shift and my Mom taught me how to be patient with my Dad while he taught me how to drive a stick shift!!!!

Have a great weekend!

Hey Steph I am SLOW.... I just saw that you put pics in the side bar of you all... LOVE the pictures Beautiful bunch you all are :-)
now to things mom taught me...mine may be the strangest answer you ever hear...but things my mother taught me were things I did not want to be or to be like...i learned to be patient (sort of) because she was never patient, I learned to be open and helpful (part because I had to work for her and beacuse i learned it was appreciated by others) I learned that how things look often are not how they really are.... from my dad I learned to drive :-) and how to drink or not to drink perhaps...and as an adult I learned unconditional love. wow... that was strange... I just dont tell all that often... I hope it is not as confusing as it seems.
Hugs Laura
