Update on Grandma

Well Grandma got out of the hospital on Saturday night around 9:00, they thought she had pneumonia She was super weak and couldn't do much of anything, so on Tuesday (since Monday was a holiday) Mom was bringing her to the doctor so we could get her admitted to a rehab center for PT and her doctor did a direct admit back to the hospital. It turns out that she has blood clots in her lungs. They are giving her medicine to dissolve the clots and tonight they are doing a CT and tomorrow a X-Ray and drawing blood. Depending on her numbers she might need to get a blood transfusion . She might be going to rehab on the drug therapy for the clots as soon as tomorrow. We don't know if she will be able to recover from this, we have thought before that she wouldn't and she has proven us wrong. If she can recover from this but can't get strong enough to come home and be safe by herself, since Mom and I are often not home and Dad's health is questionable at best, we will look into long-term care. We do not want to come home one day and find her lying on the floor. As Mom says, she doesn't have to be able to cook and clean but she should be able to at least get to the bathroom and make her self and peanut butter sandwich.
