Rough Week, Bad Morning

To say that this has been a rough week might just be the biggest understatement that I have ever made. Wednesday Mom had surgery and that wasn't awful, but it was just the beginning. On Friday night Dad's O2 took a nose dive and hit the lowest in the 70s, which earned in a one-way ticket to the ER and a hospital stay. Now they think he had bi-lateral walking pneumonia on top of a bunch of inflammation. He is still in the hospital, but might be released tomorrow. They want to send him to Emory University for a 2nd opinion and to see if they know of any new treatment that his doctors up here aren't aware of yet, since they are a research hospital. They have increased his steroids back up to 2 pills a day and at least that is treating the symptoms for right now.

Up until this point it has been rough, but it even got worse this morning. Last night we think Gus had a stroke, but he seemed to recover from it for the most part. However this morning he had at least one more, if not two and we lost him. Mom wasn't home since she was at the hospital and this all started this morning around 6:15 as I was getting up getting ready for church. Gus didn't suffer, but it was hard watching him take his final breaths. He will be missed. We have had Gus for 10 years at least.

Losing a pet is so very hard no matter how old they may be. I will be keeping you all in my prayers and hoping that your parents are ok. Gus will be in our thoughts. Hopefully he will meet up with our Nomar. :)
