VBS & other stuff

Today started Vacation Bible School at my church, better known as VBS. Since I STILL haven't found a job yet I'm helping out this year with crafts for the 2 year olds though those that have just completed Kindergarden. VBS starts at 9:00 and goes until noon, but I'm usually there from 8:30 until 12:30 or so. At my church down in FL I use to do VBS almost ever year (I use to take vacation time to help with VBS, I love it) but I always did music or more specifficaly I did A/V which included sound, lights & slides. I never realized how much prep work went into crafts, but I'm enjoying it. The little kids are so cute.

Well Mom & Dad leave for Ft. Myers early in the morning. I don't think Mom & Dad will get to see my sister because they will have Gus and my sister has 4 dogs so they can't bring Gus to their house. However my sister is going to come up in July for her birthday.

Have a good day!!

VBS was definitely good times for me, both as a child and as an adult. I still remember the Plaster of Paris open Bible I painted withe the scripture All Scripture is given by inspiration of God." And oh, the icy cold Kool Aid and cookies we had for snacks! Teaching VBS was so rewarding for me. At the time I taught it, my dad was the custodian at the Methodist Church we went to and he put in long hours getting things ready and cleaning up afterwards. On the Sunday morning of the VBS program for the parents he had a heart attack and I didn't even go to the program that night cause I stayed outside of ICU with him. He had to end up retiring from the church after that and he missed it terribly especially at VBS time. Hope your parents have a safe and uneventful trip!
