Interview Update

Well I had my interview today. When I was on my way to the interview the owner of the company called and asked to move it back two hours, so I went to my church and helped out with the slides for tomorrow night's practice. I didn't want to go home and sit around and wait, I would have gotten too nervous plus I didn't want to get my interview clothes covered in dog hair. I haven't tought the dogs the difference between casul clothes and dress-up clothes (LOL). I found out that I was the first person that he interviewd, so he will be interviewing for the next two weeks and then will call back his top choices. Hopefully I will know something in a couple of weeks.

Update on Dad:
He isn't going to have colonoscopy this week after all. The problem is that the doctor that he was going to works out of a hospital that isn't on the insurance plan and due to his sleep apnea the procedure needs to be done in the hospital. I hate insurance for this reason. So now Dad is changing doctors (that is ok, Mom works with this guy in the hospital) and had an appointment with him yesterday but I don't know when the test has been scheduled for or even if it has been scheduled yet. I do know that Dad is starting to feel really bad.

Busy Day

Today was a busy day. I had to take Grandma to the doctor this morning and then we went to Wal-Mart. That is a big outing for her, so we try to take her at least once a week so she gets out of the house. Then when I got home I had to fight with Tax office again in Tampa, however allo f my fighting finally paid off and I got what I needed taken care of. I think next time I will just fly down there - it is so much easier to take care of stuff in person. I HATE dealing with the govenment.

No news on the job front. I'm still looking. Hopefully I will find something soon. Thank you for the concern about me feeling YUCKY, I'm starting to feel better. I have some stomach issues and they flaired up. Nothing a little Nexium won't take care of.

Just Another Day

Not much to talk about today. I have been feeling pretty yuck this weekend, but I'm starting to feel better. We had a little bit of snow this weekend, not a lot though so I won't complain. We just had fluries and it was pretty to watch.

Late Night Post

Sorry that I'm posting so late today. It has been kind of a busy day. I did some running with Mom getting things set up for next week. Dad had an EEG today and on Monday has a sleep study to get him set-up on the machine.

Just a really quick job update. I heard last week from Lockheed Martin and was told that I should be contacted back the beginning of next week. I would love to work for Lockheed for a few reasons. The main one being right now that they have great benefits and pay well. I also like the fact that they are very large and have 3 offices in the Tampa area since I hope to move back there. Don't get me wrong the area that Mom & Dad are in is nice, but it isn't home.

Does anyone out there know what I can do about my former company that is not releasing money to me that they owe me? I keep getting told that it is a computer system problem, but they never seem to get fixed. I have been working on this since January 9th of this year and still haven't gotten very far. I have elevated it up the proper channels and everyone is very nice and seems to want to help, but so far I still haven't gotten what I needed.

Just Another Day

*********Afternoon Update*********** It is suppose to SNOW here tonight. YIKES!!! This Florida girl doesn't do cold!!!!!

Last night I got a call from Lockheed Martin, where I have applied for a job. Hopefully it will work out. I would love to get a job there, it is a huge company with great benefits and offices here and 3 offices in Tampa (I haven't decided yet if I'm going to stay here or move back "home".) Other than that not much going on here. Dad still isn't doing well, but we aren't sure what is going on there. He has a bunch of doctors appointments coming up so hopefully we can find something to help him feel better.

Catching Up

For the most part I'm settled in. I have my computer station, TV & DVD set-up. My car is pretty well unloaded execpt for the trunk and everything is slowly finding a home. Since the basement of the house isn't heated (that is where my desk and room are located) I have a space heater in my room and an electric blanket on the couch in my TV/computer area. Still looking for a job, but I have gotten some good leads.

Dad isn't doing well. The past few days he has been just exhaused and he has no energy. He has another doctor's appointment on Monday to see what is going on.

Looking for a job

Usually I wouldn't post about this, but I could really use your prayers. I have been unemployed since October 1st of last year, due to a layoff from a well known copier company. I was looking for a job in Tampa without much luck, which is one of the reasons I moved among many more. Now I live outside of Atlanta, and even though I’ve been looking up here for awhile (long before I moved up here) I still haven’t found a job. It is getting really frustrating to say the least. So if anyone knows of anyone hiring in the Atlanta area I would love any leads.

Also thank you for the concern about my Dad. Unfortunately his disease isn’t something that will get better; in fact it will get worse over time. We are trying to find some sort of treatment to help minimize the effects of the disease. He is having memory test, sleep test and a swallow test this week. It is hard to watch him like this. This is a man that use to work all day and then work on building a car late into the night. Now he doesn’t have the energy to do much anymore.

Catching Up

I know that I have been falling behind in keeping up with my blog. Sorry to all of you who still check here on a daily basis. Right now I'm still trying to get boxes unpacked and figuring out what I need at the house and what needs to be put in storage. I'm also trying to adjust to a 50 degree change in temperature. When I left Florida it was in the 80s and in GA it is in the 30s. Now I know that isn't bad compared to what some of you are dealing with (Ness, Hallie & Kimmy), but my body is in shock and I'm freezing.

For those of you who believe in the power of prayer (I sure do), would you please add my Dad to your list. He is have major health issues right now. He is having pulmonary problems along with major memory issues and other health issues. As hard as it was to leave, I'm glad that I'm here right now.
