I haven't fallen off the face of the earth

Hi Everyone,

I know you must all think that I have fallen off the face of the earth, but I haven't. Things have been supper busy around here though. Grandma came home from the hospital at the end of February, after being in the hospital or rehab for 2 months. All of my time has been spent trying to help care for her, teaching or getting ready to go back to school.

Lets see if I can give you a quick catch up on the last month. I know, I have to up date more than once a month.

Grandma
Like I said at the end of February Grandma finally came home. So far she has been doing well, except for this last Saturday when she fell. Thankfully she wasn't hurt. She was in the hospital or rehab center from December 28 to February 28. On March 11th, she celebrated her 87th birthday. It was great that she was able to be home for that.

Mom & Dad
Not too much to report here. Thankfully Dad's heath seems to be holding steady. Mom is working like a mad women, but that is nothing new. Dad will be leaving to go and visit his son (my step-brother) and two grandsons this week in Ohio. He always times these visits to miss as much of the snow as possible.

Me
Well I'm gearing up to go back to school. I have decided to get my certification in Middle Grades, Math & Science, with an add-on certification in Special Ed inclusion and will also do an add-on in my original area of Business Technology Education. I have been spending all of my free time studying Geometry and Statistics since those are the first two math classes I have to take this summer. I will be doing Calculus in the fall. I'm a little nervous since I haven't taken a math class in about 13 years. Other than that it the same old stuff. I still enjoying subbing, but it makes for some long days.

I guess that is all for now. I promise I will update more than once a month.

Steph

Glad to hear from you. I was getting worried! It sounds like you have quite the schedule ahead of you but it will make you more valuable to the world of teaching after all the classes, etc. are behind you. Glad to hear Grandma and Dad are doing well. Take care and check in more often!
