Icky Weather, but Fun Weekend

We have been having really nasty weather in Georgia this weekend. It has been raining and cold, which just makes it miserable. Tonight we are suppose to be getting snow, for crying out loud this is the south, and more rain. With all of that said though, we had a fun weekend. Mom & I decorated the entire outside for Christmas. When it isn't raining I will go out and get some pictures and post them. Yesterday we got up the outside garland over the windows and door, the wreath on the front door, and our singing & dancing Frosty. Today we put up the rest of the lights and our big blow up Christmas snow globe. We have everything on timers, so as dusk the entire yard comes to life - the lights come on, Frost starts singing (it is a very sensitive motion detector - so wind blowing a leaf is enough to make Frost go), and the snow globe starts blowing itself up and moving. It is quite the site to behold.

I guess one of the main reasons that I'm so excited about Christmas this year is because last year I couldn't spend it with my family. Mom, Dad & Grandma had already moved to Georgia and I was still in Florida. My sister had to spend Christmas with her Father-in-Law (it was the one year anniversary of her Mother-in-law's death from cancer), and I couldn't afford to travel to Georgia since I was working temp in Florida and had just been laid off about 3 month before Christmas. Don't get me wrong, I had a nice holiday with wonderful friends who are like family. It just isn't the same though. I'm glad I get to spend this year with everyone, even my sister and her husband are coming up.

I will let you know if we actually get snow. After Christmas though I done with the cold and want to head back to Florida.

I'm going to try to do some sort of post, even if it is super quick, everyday until Christmas. It will be my own Christmas Challenge. I want to get better about posting more often and thought this might be the way.
